Outdoor design by Meneghello Paolelli Associati Some iconic and award-winning products signed by the designers duo (such as the Deauville, Tweed and Le Arcs collections for Unopiù, Skagen, Riad and Copenhagen collections for Oasiq and the Duck arm awning tent developed for Gibus), reveal a sophisticated research and innovative project solutions. All of them go towards an aesthetic exchange and functional mix between interiors and exteriors. The latest model designed for Unopiù is Deauville Sunbed integrates the homonymous modular system of sofas, armchairs and poufs. Deauville is characterised by the use of the innovative "Breath Air" material, a Japanese patent. Marco Paolelli and Sandro Meneghello state: "As the contemporary design trends show, indoor and outdoor environments tend to increasingly fade one into the other. The consumers need to see the outdoor spaces as a natural stylistic continuation of their homes interiors. There are no more separations and clear distinctions, but rather an aesthetic and functional osmosis between different environments. This can effect a private home as much as a resort. Unopiù and Oasiq, companies we have been collaborating with for a while (since 2012), interpret this trend in their collections. Complements, seats and outdoor sofas are designed to live in hybrid spaces such as verandas, terraces and patios where, in addition to functionality of furnishings, show a careful attention on other aspects like glamour and choice of sophisticated materials. Duck, designed for Gibus, transformed a purely functional object such as a sunshade, into a decorative complement that embellishes the aesthetics of verandas and terraces. Our path in the outdoor design continues, a field where research into materials, technological solutions and the development of new concepts are in great evolution.
